    What is a club token?

Walltrade Football editorial team · · Français

A club token is an official digital asset issued by a football club that partners with Walltrade Football. Its value moves with the club's sporting results, its financial health and supply and demand. Each primary-market purchase directly funds the club. The value can go down as well as up.

    Key points

    • Issued by a partner club through a dedicated smart contract.
    • Reference price calculated from fundamentals: sporting performance, financial health, supporter enthusiasm.
    • Weekly price change capped at ±3% and smoothed (exponential moving average).
    • Bought on the primary market (from the club), resold on the marketplace between investors.
    • Identity verification (KYC) and anti-money-laundering (AML) checks before buying.
    • Risk of capital loss: the value can fall.

What is the definition of a club token?

A club token is a digital share in a football club's journey. The club issues it officially, in a set quantity, through a dedicated smart contract. It is neither a merchandise product nor a collectible: it is an asset whose value is tied to the club's real situation.

It differs from an NFT, which is a unique digital object (artwork, access, memento) issued by a club. Club tokens and NFTs serve different purposes, compared in our dedicated guide.

How does the value of a club token change?

The Walltrade Football valuation engine calculates a reference price from real fundamentals. Three families of factors apply: sporting performance (results, standings, season momentum), the club's financial health, and supply and demand (supporter enthusiasm, trading volumes).

The price is adjusted weekly. To avoid sharp jumps, the weekly change is bounded by a ±3% anti-volatility band and smoothed with an exponential moving average (EMA).

How do you buy a club token?

You create an investor account, then complete identity verification (KYC), which unlocks buying, withdrawals and marketplace access. Payment goes through licensed payment providers (card, PayPal, wallet).

Purchased tokens appear in your portfolio. Transaction fees are shown before each confirmation; details are on the Pricing page.

What is the difference between the primary market and the marketplace?

On the primary market you buy directly from the club when tokens are issued. On the marketplace (secondary market), investors trade club tokens with each other after issuance.

Reselling on the marketplace depends on there being buyers: you may not be able to sell immediately at your desired price. This is liquidity risk.

Where does the money from a purchase go?

According to the model Walltrade Football describes, each club token purchase directly funds the partner club, under the terms of its partnership agreement. Service fees, shown before every payment, cover infrastructure, security, development and compliance.

    How are transactions secured?

Walltrade Football lists the following safeguards on its Trust page:

    • KYC/AML procedures and compliance with rules applicable to digital assets.
    • Payments processed by licensed providers.
    • Audited smart contracts and on-chain traceable operations.
    • User funds kept separate from the platform's own funds.
    • Price history, volumes and valuation method available to consult.
